GVP College of Engineering for Women has made concerted efforts to focus its Research & Development activities on expanding frontiers of knowledge and technological developments. To create a name for itself in R&D activities, the college has initiated several steps including funding for conferences, workshops and computational devices. The college R&D activities are looked after by Prof. K. Raja Rajeswari, Retd. Professor of Andhra University as Director - R&D of the college. The research interests of the faculty of the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering spans diverse fields in the areas that include Power Converters, Power Quality, Renewable Energy, Energy Audit & Conservation. The Department facilitates the sudents to involve in undergraduate research by providing on-campus internships, mini projects and academic projects. The faculty is actively engaged in both research and consultancy works to promote effective teaching-learning and a partner in Sustainable growth of the society.
The Department of Electronics & Communicatin Engineering encourages and facilitates the students and faculty to carry out research. The department has three core research groups: Signal Processing, Communications, VLSI & Embedded Systems. The students and faculty are also involved in inter department collaborative research in areas like Artificial Neural Networks & IoT. The faculty of the department has published papers in various peer reviewed, SCI, Scopus Indexed journals and conferences. Most of the faculty members are associated with various professional bodies like IETE, ISTE, IEEE to enhance their research activities. Research projects are being pursued by faculty members with funding from organizatins like DST, AICTE.
The teaching - learning system at GVP College of Engineering for Women provide a platform to our teachers and students of all programs in cluding Department of Computer Science & Engineeiring anticipating that it develops the multi disciplinary education in Engineering, Science and Humanities. A strong emphasis is laid on teachers and students to get involved in research that develops the educational baseemerging in Engineering, Science & Humanities. This leads to help our young minds to participate in problem-solving techniques relevant to industrial needs that eventually may result in new or improved products, processes, systems or services.
The ket objective of the institute is to develop an academic ambience in which technical studies and research blossom amongst the faculty and the students for attainment of latest knowledge. The Department of Information Technology intended for conceiving and developing innovative products and services using leading-edge technologies benefitted for the society. The department has initiated to identify research problems relevant to industrial needs and ensures the participation of students and faculty members i research towards problem solving activities. Utilizing the intellectual capabilities of the facult and existing physical infrastructure, the department, towards the research activities, provide a better exposure to students of the institute to bring the latest knowledge into the classroom.
The Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities is organized into the faculty divisions: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, English and Management Sciences. The Mechanical Engineering department is supporting to other engineering departments. The faculty in each division work independently and collaboratively to produce high quality research. The department is proud to say that the research contributions of the faculty have been published by reputed publishing houses like IEEE< Elsevier, Wiley, World Scientific, etc.
